FamilyTasks Privacy Policy

Effective August 2, 2026

FamilyTasks helps parents and children coordinate household tasks and rewards. We designed the service to work without email addresses, passwords, advertising identifiers, or precise location data.

Information we collect

• Profile and family information: a display name, family name, role (parent or child), family membership, and invite-code status.
• Task and reward information: tasks, descriptions, schedules, completion status, points, rewards, and redemption activity entered by family members.
• Device and service information: authentication tokens, push-notification tokens when notifications are enabled, time zone, and limited server logs needed for security and reliability.
• Purchase information: store platform, product and transaction identifiers, and entitlement status. Apple or Google processes payments; FamilyTasks does not receive or store payment-card details.

How we use information

We use this information only to provide FamilyTasks features, synchronize a family's activity, deliver requested notifications, verify purchases, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain service security. We do not sell personal information, show third-party ads, or use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs.

Sharing

Information is shared with members of the same family as needed for the app to work. We use infrastructure providers to host the service and Apple, Google, and Expo services for purchases and push notifications. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may disclose information when legally required or to protect users and the service.

Children and parental control

FamilyTasks is intended for family use under a parent's supervision. A parent creates and controls the family, provides invite codes, and approves members. Children do not need to provide an email address, age, photo, or precise location. Parents should use nicknames or first names when appropriate and are responsible for deciding what family information is entered.

Security and retention

Connections use encryption in transit, and session credentials are stored in the device's protected storage. We retain active family data while the family uses the service. A member who leaves is deactivated and their push token and active session are revoked; task history may remain visible to the family until the family is deleted. Limited security logs and transaction records may be retained where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, legal compliance, and purchase restoration.

Your choices and deletion

Parents can permanently delete the family and its associated profiles, tasks, rewards, and membership data from Settings → Delete Family. Members can leave a family from Settings. For help with access, correction, or deletion, see our account deletion page or contact us.
